Iran Calls for Restraint to Pakistan and India

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has left Tehran for New Delhi to meet with senior officials in India, as reported by Mehr.

During his visit to New Delhi, the senior Iranian diplomat is expected to discuss bilateral relations, issues of mutual interest, as well as recent regional and international developments.

In addition to consultations on matters of mutual interest with Indian senior officials, a session of the Iran-India Joint Economic Cooperation Commission will also be held, chaired by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar.

Moreover, the current status of the implementation of economic agreements between the two countries will be discussed during the visit.

In light of the recent escalation of tensions between Pakistan and India, Iran has expressed deep concern over the military tensions escalating between the two countries and has called on both sides to show restraint and avoid further escalation.

It is noteworthy that prior to his visit to India, Abbas Araghchi visited Pakistan.
