It Was a Test for Ukraine: Peskov

The ceasefire proposed by Russia aimed to test Kyiv's willingness to seek a peaceful resolution. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.

“Russia is waiting for Kyiv's recent actions to ease the situation during the holidays. The purpose of the ceasefire proposed by Russia was to check Kyiv's readiness regarding a peaceful resolution,” he said.

According to Peskov, “the ideological basis of the current Kyiv regime is neo-Nazism.”

“The refusal to directly respond to Russia's proposal clearly indicates that the ideological foundation of today's Kyiv regime is neo-Nazism. Apparently, their victory over Hitler's Germany and against plague and Nazism is not a celebration for them,” Peskov said.

The press secretary of the Russian president has stated that he has no information regarding U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's possible arrival in Moscow on May 9. “I have no such information. Right now, American media are presenting many varying reports. Sometimes you are surprised, and sometimes you cannot understand what they are talking about. But in this case, I just do not have such information,” he told reporters.
