We Saw Officials Exhibiting the Behavior of Street Thugs: Marutyan

Recently, our country’s social and political life has been enriched with several shameful incidents. This was noted by former Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan in a Facebook post regarding an incident involving the Nor Nork district mayor.

“We have seen officials who exhibit the behavior of street thugs; we have seen parties that justify and even encourage such behavior. It is obvious that the CPP party is yielding to the whims and blackmail of the ‘Republic’ party, which professes fake European values while actually espousing criminal mores, in order to maintain power, sacrificing societal welfare and legality in the process,” Marutyan stated.

“Clearly, all of this is related to the upcoming parliamentary elections next year. The failed government and the uncompetitive parliamentary opposition have exhausted their message to the public and have nothing left but mutual insults and brawls to offer.”

“Our society deserves more mature and prudent governance during this challenging period. I urge public figures to be reserved in their speech and actions, and to adhere to the demands of legality and morality.”
