Establishing Order in the Migration Sector Has Matured: Russian Foreign Ministry
In the past year, active work has been underway in Russia aimed at improving migration legislation, and the need to establish order in this sector has objectively matured. This was stated by Mikhail Agasandyan, Director of the First Department of CIS Countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“In this situation, I would suggest that we first focus on the work being conducted by Russia's profile departments in accordance with the directives of the country's leadership, which are dictated by the need to establish order in the migration sector, improve accompanying procedures, including their digitalization, as well as the objectively matured necessity to combat illegal migration,” he said.
Agasandyan noted that in this regard, significant efforts have been directed towards improving migration legislation and regulating relevant procedures in Russia over the past year.
