Second Round of US-Iran Negotiations Concludes: What Was Discussed
The latest round of indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran has concluded in Muscat. These discussions are set to continue next week, with a high-level meeting scheduled for May 3.
The Omani Foreign Minister stated that the talks highlighted a mutual interest in reaching an agreement based on mutual respect and stable commitments. He noted that the parties discussed the main principles, objectives, and technical issues of a potential deal.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei also emphasized that the parties, with Omani mediation, exchanged views on two main fronts: the effective cessation of sanctions and strengthening confidence in the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
