Estonian President Discusses Peace Process with Trump
We talked to Trump about the peace process in Ukraine and I invited him to visit Estonia. This was stated by Estonian President Alar Karis in an interview with ERR, who was seated next to US President Donald Trump and his wife during the funeral of Pope Francis.
After the funeral ceremony, Karis conversed with Trump. “I asked him how the peace process is going and urged him to do everything possible to keep the process going and for the US not to abandon its role as a mediator. He promised to do that and said that we are quite close to a decision, as he had just met with Zelensky. Of course, I didn’t ask him much about what this meeting brought,” said the Estonian President.
He added, “We also talked about the possibility of him visiting Estonia, and he invited me to Washington. We discussed transatlantic relations and how important they are for both of us—not just from a European perspective, but also an American one. President Trump agrees. So, we need to think about how to improve these relations. We certainly did not agree on dates during our conversation, but these invitations were official,” he stated.
He also had discussions with the President of Armenia.
