Azerbaijan Continues to Manipulate, Says Armenian Representative
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan continues to manipulate the procedural decisions made in legal processes. This was reported by the Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Matters.
Armenia has consistently informed international courts about violations of the rights of Armenian prisoners of war and detained individuals in Azerbaijan, including violations of procedural rights. The most recent such information was submitted to the International Court of Justice on April 18 of this year, also requesting the Court to apply additional measures under Rule 78 of the Court’s rules, in addition to the measures already taken.
The Court had called for detailed information in response to Armenia's request, which was provided by Azerbaijan. As a result, the Court concluded that there is no need for the application of additional measures at 'this stage of the proceedings.'
Azerbaijan is also silent regarding the obligations imposed on it concerning ongoing proceedings at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which it is currently required to fulfill. Azerbaijan also does not mention the decisions in which the ECHR, based on arguments presented by Armenia, rejects the recurrent requests from Azerbaijan aimed at lifting interim measures.
In the context of ongoing proceedings, Armenia will continue to present information on violations to the international courts.
