Peskov Comments on Uthkoff's Visit

The special envoy of the U.S. President, Steve Uthkoff, delivers messages from U.S. leader Donald Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin and vice versa. This was announced by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President.

“This is discreet diplomacy, yes, these are intermediary services provided by the United States. Of course, he is a special envoy,” Peskov noted in his comments on the transmission of messages between Putin and Trump through Uthkoff.

He explained that this format is used because “it is always easier to convey all the nuances during personal conversations.”

“Communication with Uthkoff takes a lot of time, several hours. This is a good opportunity to convey our position to the American side,” the Kremlin representative added.
