Number of soldier deaths recorded in 2024

During the year 2024, there have been 2,093 incidents reported in the Armed Forces of Armenia and other military units, announced the Prosecutor General of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, in the National Assembly. This marks a decrease of 265 incidents or 11.2% compared to the previous year.

“In 2023, there were 2,358 incidents recorded,” the prosecutor recalled.

According to her, out of the recorded incidents, 762 or 36.4% were accidents, while 1,331 or 63.6% were crimes, of which 715 or 53.7% were military-related, and 616 or 46.3% were other crimes.

“In 2024, there have been 27 recorded deaths of soldiers due to circumstances related to military service, whereas in 2023, there were 54 such cases,” she noted.
