Conflict Will End If This Condition Is Met: Kremlin

Withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the territories of Donbas and Novorossiya, which are part of Russia, is necessary to achieve peace in Ukraine. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, in an interview with the French publication Le Point.

“If Ukraine removes its troops from those four regions, then yes,” he said in response to a question about whether the conflict would end if that condition were met.

He noted that these regions are enshrined in the Constitution of the Russian Federation as inseparable parts. Peskov also mentioned that some areas of these regions are still occupied by the Kyiv regime.

“As a result of the referendums, these territories were included within the administrative borders of the Russian Federation. From our perspective, this is both de jure and de facto,” Peskov stated.
