We Are Ready: Zelensky
Ukraine is ready for dialogue with Russia regarding a partial ceasefire that aims at prohibiting long-range strikes on civilian objects. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening address.
He noted that after Easter, the world sees the real reason why hostilities continue. According to Zelensky, the true source of the war is Russia. “It is from Moscow that the real order to cease fire should come,” emphasized the president.
The country’s leader reminded that there were no air alerts during Easter, and certain segments of the front line had seen a cessation of hostilities. This indicates that a ceasefire is possible when Russia agrees to it. “The Russian Federation has rejected not only the American proposal for a complete and unconditional ceasefire, which was made during the Jeddah negotiations over a month ago, but also the recent offer to do everything for silence after Easter... However, Ukraine maintains its proposal to refrain from strikes on at least civilian infrastructure. And we expect a clear response from Moscow. We are ready for any dialogue,” added Zelensky.
He explained that the easiest way for such a ceasefire would be the cessation of missile and long-range drone strikes.
