10,000 People Left Without Electricity in Tuva

Heavy snowfall in several communities of Tuva has led to emergency power outages. In total, 10,000 people are without electricity, reports the press service of the Tuva Republic government.

Over the past 24 hours, snow has fallen in the central and eastern parts of the region, with local snow levels reaching up to 10 mm. As of the morning of April 21, 193 transformer substations have been shut down in Tuva.

A total of 14 teams and 16 units of equipment have been mobilized to eliminate the power grid failures. The majority of power outages have occurred in the city of Kyzyl. Kindergartens in the city are not accepting children, and some schools have shifted to remote learning for the second shift.

The Tuva Republic is part of Russia, with its capital in Kyzyl.
