Open Letter from Relatives of Fallen Soldiers to Former Minister of Defense of Artsakh

The Information Headquarters of Artsakh has published an open letter from the relatives of soldiers who fell in September 2023.

"Open Letter to Kamo Vardanian, Former Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, from the Relatives of Soldiers Who Fell in September 2023:
After more than 9 months of blockade, in September 2023, our loved ones, risking their lives, confronted Azerbaijani aggression and saved the 120,000 residents of Artsakh from genocidal extermination. There have been many instances of bravery shown by the fighters of the Defense Army and local militias, yet, simultaneously, we are witnessing false and manipulative statements propagated by various representatives of the government of Armenia and their affiliated media, claiming that the people of Artsakh did not fight. The latest example of this is the immoral statement made by Armenian MP Khachatur Sukiasyan.

While representatives of the Armenian government spread such divisive and targeted misinformation, the Commander of the Defense Army Kamo Vardanian, who was officially responsible for the defense of Artsakh during those days, continues to remain silent while holding a position in the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. We, the relatives of the victims of the 2023 aggression, demand that Kamo Vardanian immediately make a clear statement regarding the military operations, as we believe it is primarily he who should speak and put an end to this divisive and manipulative rhetoric with facts. We will consider any lack of response to this open letter a grave and condemnable complicity in this divisive phenomenon and a disrespect towards the fallen soldiers of the army he led and their relatives," the letter reads.
