Building Destroyed Due to Powerful Explosion in the U.S.
A powerful explosion at the Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems facility in Promontory, Utah, has destroyed an entire building where the company manufactures solid fuel rocket engines for both government and commercial clients, reports Air & Space Forces Magazine.
As of 07:35 local time, there have been no reports of injuries. Local authorities have announced that an investigation into the incident is underway.
A representative from Northrop declined to provide an official statement and did not describe the building's purpose or whether it was involved in the production of solid rocket motors (SRMs).
It is noted that Northrop Innovation Systems accounts for nearly 90 percent of the U.S. capabilities in SRM, which support the Air Force, NASA, and commercial space launches.
