Witkoff States When the US Will Conclude a Deal with Iran
Any deal between the US and Iran must include provisions for the cessation of uranium enrichment and the Iranian program for the creation of weapons of mass destruction. This statement was made by the US President's Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs, Steve Witkoff.
"A deal with Iran will only be concluded if it is under the auspices of US President Donald Trump. Any final agreement must establish frameworks for peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East, which means that Iran must halt and eliminate its nuclear enrichment and weapons of mass destruction program," Witkoff wrote on the social media platform X.
Recall that on April 12, a round of mediated negotiations took place in the Omani capital between Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. According to the American envoy, the meeting was held in a positive and constructive atmosphere. Araqchi, for his part, thanked the Omani Foreign Minister for the efforts made in facilitating the exchange of views between the Iranian and American delegations and announced that the second round of negotiations between Iran and the US will take place on April 19.
