They Will See Us in Front of Them: Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a statement after a government meeting in Ankara. In his speech, he addressed the situation in Syria, pointing out the positive processes occurring in the neighboring country. He added that Syria will not return to the period before December 8.
“With the December 8 revolution, the Syrian people made their choice and opened a new chapter in their history. A new era has begun in Syria,” said Erdogan.
He once again emphasized Turkey's position on the need to preserve Syria's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Erdogan reminded that Turkey has thwarted plans to divide Syrian territory.
“Just as we did not allow Syria to be divided through corridors of terrorism, we will not allow this country to be fragmented through other projects,” he assured.
Expressing complete support for the new Syrian authorities, he added that Ankara will continue to provide necessary assistance to Damascus for strengthening statehood. He warned against forces attempting to disrupt stability in Syria.
“Those who try to hinder Syria in achieving stable peace and stability will see us in front of them, along with the Syrian government,” said the Turkish president.
According to him, any attempts to destabilize Syria are destined to fail. “Certain forces regarding Syria must assess our friendship and behave as a state, not as a criminal organization, and should not test Turkey's patience,” concluded Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
