New Signal Will Stimulate Further Development of Bilateral Relations: Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, who is on an official visit to Armenia.

Pashinyan welcomed Fajon’s visit to Armenia and expressed confidence that it would provide a new signal for the further development of bilateral relations. He emphasized the need to enhance cooperation between the governments of the two countries to develop and expand ties in political, economic, and other areas.

Fajon also highlighted the importance of consistently developing relations with Armenia and added that the purpose of her visit is to discuss opportunities for promoting bilateral cooperation and future steps.

During the meeting, Pashinyan and Fajon discussed issues of regional significance. In particular, they addressed the alignment of the draft agreement on establishing peace and interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the Armenian government's commitment to a peace agenda.

In turn, Fajon reaffirmed Slovenia’s support for efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability in the South Caucasus, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and diplomatic cooperation.

She also stressed the significance of the Armenian Government's "Peace Bridge" initiative in the context of unblocking regional communication routes.

Discussions also revolved around the future development of Armenia-European Union relations, as well as support for ongoing democratic and institutional reforms in Armenia and opportunities for expanding close cooperation.
