Verdict Announced in Shirak Tragic Accident Case
Lawyer Hayarpi Sargsyan has announced that on April 10 at 16:15, in the General Jurisdiction Court of Shirak Province, under the presidency of Judge A. Geghamyan, the final part of the verdict in the case of the tragic traffic accident that took place on July 26, 2024, was published.
According to Sargsyan, who is the authorized representative of the victims, the court found Armen Tonoyan guilty and sentenced him to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment. In addition to the main punishment, he has also been deprived of his driving license for 3 years.
The other defendant, Arman Aleksanyan, was also found guilty and sentenced to an administrative fine of 750,000 AMD. The court partially satisfied the property claims of the victims for 4 million and 2 million AMD, respectively.
It is noteworthy that during the previous court session, the defendants fully accepted their guilt, which resulted in the selection of an accelerated trial procedure and the scheduling of additional court hearings.
