Shirak Governor Addresses Resignation Rumors
The Governor of Shirak, David Arushanyan, stated in an interview with journalists that the 'Civil Contract' party did not lose in the local elections in Gyumri. According to him, the 17,200 votes received by the party is a clear indicator of victory, as gaining such support from the people of Gyumri is no easy task. 'When the people of Gyumri love, they love; when they don’t, they express their position clearly,' he said.
Arushanyan noted that the Civil Contract has secured 14 mandates in the council, making it the largest faction, which allows for certain conclusions to be drawn. 'Some believe that they can manage Gyumri with 2-3 mandates without forming a coalition,' he added.
When asked whether the Civil Contract will nominate a mayoral candidate in Gyumri, the governor responded, 'An official announcement regarding the candidate will be made in the coming days after receiving the mandates.'
Regarding the rumors about his resignation, Arushanyan clarified, 'Of course, I will not be resigning. I can confidently say that if good results are achieved, no one will be dismissed from their position.'
