When the Armenian national team wins, the federation is ignored, while during the team’s losses, the Federation of Football of Armenia (FFA) is blamed. The FFA President Arman Melikbekyan stated this during a press conference.

“When the national team won a tournament for the first time in history in 2020, the team’s coach Kapaross was rightfully celebrated, but the federation was overlooked. This is not a problem for us, but usually, when the opposite happens and the national team experiences failures, the federation is always held responsible,” he said at a meeting with journalists.

According to Melikbekyan, they understand that the recent defeats of the national team have been very heavy losses and are difficult to bear. He believes that there is a clear campaign against the football federation. “Recently, we have especially seen various materials being published that have no relation to the activities of the Football Federation of Armenia or myself. They have a commissioned nature. There are people for whom it is a dream to sit in the chair of the President of the Football Federation of Armenia. To achieve their goal, they do not hesitate to use their most despicable methods. A large media resource is being utilized, which generally creates misunderstandings,” he stated.
