Ethics Committee to be Formed Regarding Andranik Kocharyan's Conduct
The Staff of the National Assembly has given a positive conclusion to the initiative to create an Ethics Committee regarding the conduct of Andranik Kocharyan, a member of the parliamentary faction of the Civil Contract party. This was reported to NEWS.am by the National Assembly.
The issue will be included in the agenda of the upcoming parliamentary session, with the main rapporteur being Taguhi Tovmasyan from the 'I Have Honor' faction.
It is worth recalling that the incident involving Andranik Kocharyan occurred on March 20 during a press briefing with journalists. Andranik Kocharyan demanded in a harsh tone that journalist Hripsime Jebejyan leave his side, stating that she was disturbing him, and threatened that if she did not leave, he would not give interviews to other journalists as well. At the end, he commented on the journalist's lips, saying, 'Clean your lips.'
Later, Andranik Kocharyan stated that he did not intend to apologize, saw nothing offensive in what he had said, and that he had simply referred to Bishop Bagrat. Following this, journalists began a petition demanding the formation of the Ethics Committee.
