Proshyan Community Leader Addresses Protests

In connection with today's protests, the residents will meet with the Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure on Monday in a group of 20 individuals. This was stated by the head of the Proshyan community, Sevak Gabrielyan, during a conversation with reporters.

“Now I will meet with them to discuss what the issue is, so that we understand how to voice our concerns. We want to discuss and understand what proposals we can make in order to find solutions. Currently, bus number 25 operates between Proshyan and Yerevan, and the goal of the protest is to prevent this route from being discontinued; we simply want to understand what solutions we can find,” he clarified.

Gabrielyan noted that the people have taken to the streets to raise their voices in protest, despite a relevant application being submitted to the appropriate authorities. “I suggested that they not take such actions as blocking the road; this is not appropriate at this time. The people acted spontaneously, but we tried to come to a peaceful agreement and understand our interests,” he said.

It should be reminded that since this morning, residents of Proshyan and Kasakh have blocked the Yerevan-Ashtarak major highway, demanding that the transportation services from their communities to Yerevan should not be taken away.
