Possibility of Resuming Direct Flights Between Russia and the US

Kiril Dmitriev, a special representative of the Russian President, has shared some details about the negotiations held in the United States, as reported by TASS.

Dmitriev did not specify with whom he met, although unofficial reports indicated that he had met with Stephen Biegun, a special envoy of US President Donald Trump. “We clearly see that President Trump’s administration, unlike President Biden’s, is oriented towards resolving issues. They are extremely respectful, understand Russia's position, ask many questions, and find compromises,” he stated.

Dmitriev also mentioned the possibility of resuming direct air travel between Russia and the US, which was suspended at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and has not been restored due to Russia's military operations in Ukraine. “We are confident that we will make progress on this issue,” he added. Dmitriev rated his meetings with US officials positively.
