Azerbaijan Demands France to Cease Actions Undermining Peace

Azerbaijan has rejected the statement from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs claiming that Baku is presenting new preconditions for the signing of the Peace Agreement.

“It is unacceptable to question the legal demand for amending the Constitution of Armenia, which maintains territorial claims against Azerbaijan and has been under discussion for over two years, presenting it as a new condition. If France truly supports the prompt signing of the peace agreement as it claims, then it should call on Armenia to take the necessary steps in that direction. We demand the cessation of actions that do not contribute to peace and to refrain from activities that destabilize the situation in the region,” stated Ayhan Hacizade, spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
