Russia Opposes Such a Scenario: Zakharova

Some European countries are planning to send a group of military experts to Ukraine in the coming weeks, tasked with determining the locations for the deployment of military contingents. This was also stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as reported by RG.RU.

“This will be the first deep meeting; we will meet with those who are ready to deploy a troop group,” Zelensky noted.

In response to this announcement, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated: “Russia categorically opposes such a scenario, which is fraught with a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO. The idea of forming a 'coalition of the willing' being discussed in the West and attempts to deploy Western troops in Ukraine under the guise of a so-called peacekeeping operation will inevitably lead to a confrontation with Russia,” she said.

Zakharova added that Ukraine will effectively become a site of military intervention by Western countries. “All this is disguised as a peacekeeping mission,” she concluded her statement.
