The Ministry of Internal Affairs on Today's Elections
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has issued a statement regarding the activities carried out on the day of the elections. The full announcement is as follows:
“As of 20:00 on March 30, the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has forwarded 6 reports of alleged crimes to the preliminary investigation body. Specifically, one report pertains to coercion in conducting or refusing to conduct campaigning, or otherwise obstructing campaigning; one report regarding hooliganism and the theft of items necessary for the proper organization of the election; two reports related to the violation of the secrecy of voting; and two reports concerning the obstruction of the right to participate in elections or referendums, or in the activities of electoral commissions, as well as the implementation of the rights or obligations of individuals participating in the elections or referendum.
Among the 14 incidents registered and under verification, 4 reports were received from citizens, and 6 were derived from publications in the media and on social platforms regarding the elections.
Regarding the work done by the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: 61 individuals have applied to be included in the additional voter lists and received notifications, of which 33 citizens are from the city of Gyumri, and 28 citizens are from the Parakar community. Thirteen individuals received temporary identity documents (Form 9) to participate in the elections, with 8 citizens from Gyumri and 5 from Parakar. Employees of the mobile service offices of the Ministry provided consultations to 311 citizens, including 210 in Gyumri and 101 in Parakar. No phone calls were received regarding the elections on the hotline of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The ‘Call Center’ at the Migration and Citizenship Service received 2 calls regarding the organization and conduct of the elections.”
