Extraordinary Council Elections Held Today in Gyumri and Parakar
Polling stations opened today, March 30, at 8:00 AM in the communities of Parakar in the Armavir Province and Gyumri in the Shirak Province. The elections will continue until 8:00 PM.
Both communities are holding extraordinary elections. According to information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Central Electoral Commission, there are 20,967 voters at 16 polling stations in Parakar and 111,236 voters at 82 polling stations in Gyumri. The polling stations in both communities will be monitored.
The participating political parties and alliances in Gyumri's local government elections include:
- Civil Contract Party - headed by Sarik Minasian
- Communist Party of Armenia - headed by former Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan
- Living Land Party - headed by Karen Malhasyan
- Mother Armenia Alliance - headed by Karen Simonyan
- Workers' Socialist Party of Armenia - headed by Artjom Tumanyan
- Euro-Alliance - headed by Levon Barseghyan
- Democratic Alternative Party - headed by Artjom Gharaghazaryan
- Our City Alliance - headed by Martun Grigoryan
- My Strong Community - headed by producer Ruben Mkrtchyan
The participating forces in the local government elections in Parakar include:
- Civil Contract Party - headed by Lyudvig Gyulnazaryan
- Unity Alliance - headed by Volodya Grigoryan
- National Progress Party - headed by David Minasian
- Stability Party - headed by Gor Saribekyan
The electoral process in Gyumri and Parakar will be observed by 29 visitors from the diplomatic and consular missions accredited in Armenia.
