Armenia Has Given Azerbaijan Vital Cards Without Receiving Anything in Return, Expert Says
Expert on Azerbaijan Tatvik Hayrapetyan writes: “Azerbaijan is presenting new demands, showing that it requires continuity in the process. Why? Because since 2021, when Nikol Pashinyan entered this process dictated by Azerbaijan, he did not understand (or perhaps there were other calculations) that he would be conceding vital cards in this process. If you recall, this agreement was initially discussed in the context of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, with references to rights and security.
It is due to this political approach that Azerbaijan has begun calling itself 'Western Azerbaijan' at the state level. And if Nikol Pashinyan does not want to see these consequences, that harsh reality does not change. There is a well-known saying: 'If you don't see me, it doesn't mean I don't see you.'
And if he is trying to convince himself that he must continue down this path, it comes at a very high cost for Armenia. Because during this time, Armenia has handed over vital cards to Azerbaijan without receiving anything in return, aside from new threats of aggression. And that is a fact.”
