Istanbul's Arrested Mayor Issues Call to Action

The Mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been detained, has made a call on social media for citizens to join large-scale protests.

“I urge our people to responsibly defend their rights. This is about the future of our nation and our children. Today, make sure to vote for Turkey's future, and then gather in the squares of Sarıyer in Istanbul and other cities in the country to express your stance,” he stated.

It is worth reminding that a Turkish court has today detained Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on corruption charges.
