Tear Gas Used Against Protesters in Istanbul

Tear gas has been deployed against protesters supporting the detained mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu, in Sarachane Park, according to РИА Новости. Earlier, Turkey's main opposition party, the Republican People's Party (CHP), had called for another protest.

It has been reported that the gas-like substance is emanating from the Shehzade Mosque, which is adjacent to the park. Protesters are seen sneezing and coughing, while amidst chants and speeches, they are discussing what is happening and what type of gas it is. Many attendees are wearing medical masks, balaclavas, and scarves wrapped around their mouths and noses.
