Does the US Demand Something Else from Azerbaijan? Politician

In international relations, as in the criminal world, there exists a methodology of presenting very painful, unacceptable demands to obtain a significant concession in another matter. This was written by political analyst Stepan Danielyan.

“US President Donald Trump’s advisor Michael Waltz has demanded the release of Armenian ‘prisoners’ held in Azerbaijan. Many in Armenia have perceived this demand sincerely, believing that for the current US administration, as well as for the previous one, it is acceptable to overlook the killings of tens of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza, the expulsion of one and a half million Palestinians to Somalia, and the ethnic cleansing in Artsakh. However, when it comes to the release of Armenian prisoners, a sense of humanism and empathy has erupted,” he emphasized.

Waltz presented a previously known unacceptable demand for the Azerbaijani ruler. This raises the question: for what purpose? In international relations, as in the criminal world, there exists a methodology of presenting very painful, unacceptable demands to achieve a significant concession in another area.

This is the actual question of what else the US administration is trying to impose on Azerbaijan by putting forward such an obviously unacceptable demand. This is where all the intrigue lies. We can confidently conclude that the real demand is not directly connected with us,” he concluded.
