Elon Musk Supports Idea of US Departure from UN and NATO
Billionaire and head of the U.S. government's Efficiency Office, Elon Musk, has voiced support for the idea of the United States withdrawing from the UN and NATO. The proposal for leaving the UN had previously been discussed in Congress.
“I agree,” Musk wrote on X, responding to another user's post that suggested it was time for the US to exit both the UN and the North Atlantic Alliance. Notably, on February 21, a group of Republican senators presented a bill to Congress aimed at terminating the US's membership in the UN. This proposal would place restrictions on the United States' ability to participate in peacekeeping missions.
The document also includes a provision that prohibits rejoining the organization without Senate approval. It is important to mention that earlier in February, the United States withdrew from the UN Human Rights Council.
