Mexico Hands Over 29 Drug Cartel Members to the U.S.

The U.S. authorities have secured the extradition of 29 members of a Mexican drug cartel, including Rafael Caro Quintero, who is accused of the kidnapping, torture, and murder of Drug Enforcement Administration agent Enrique Camarena in 1985, according to the White House press office.

“President Trump instructed the Department of Justice and the State Department to make this happen, and Attorney General Pam Bondi and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have done an excellent job,” the administration stated in a press release on Friday.

The White House emphasized that the previous administration under Joe Biden allowed these criminals to evade justice, while Trump’s team identified some of Latin America's largest drug cartels with terrorist organizations and is now determined to secure punishments for their members.
