Blocked and Difficult-to-Navigate Roads: Where Not to Go
The Rescue Service has reported that there are blocked and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia.
In Ararat Province, the roads leading from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to the K’ari Lake and Amberd Fortress are closed.
The Berd-Jambarak road is closed to all types of transport.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed for truck trailers, making it difficult for other vehicles to navigate.
Roads from the Shaki checkpoint, Noravan-Ltsen, the Syunik village of Shinuhayr-Tatev-Goris, and the section of Meghri called "Vardan's Gorge" to Kajaran are also difficult for truck trailers.
The Alagyaz-Artik and the roads from the M-3 highway to Lernapar are difficult for freight vehicles.
There are patches of black ice on the roads in the provinces of Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, and Syunik. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed only for freight vehicles.
