Large Quantities of Various Drugs Acquired and Sold via Telegram

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports: ‘The Community Police Department of Kumayri received information that three foreign nationals were acquiring large quantities of various drugs through a page on the Telegram application, storing them at their residence in Gyumri, and then selling them.

Within the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings, a search was conducted at their residence on February 7, revealing seven packages of colored adhesive tape containing a total of 18 grams of the drug type ‘Alpha PVP’ in the bedroom, as well as marijuana contained in a cigarette box. Two of the foreign nationals were arrested, and measures are being taken to locate the third.

On February 13, community police officers in Kumayri arrested a 20-year-old young man on Solomon Teylerian Street on suspicion of drug possession and use, and he was taken to the department. A personal search revealed a green substance. He stated that the substance found was marijuana, which he had acquired through the same page for 14,000 drams for personal use.

The next day, on February 14, another 29-year-old young man was arrested on the same street and under the same suspicion. A personal search revealed a hashish type drug. The young man also stated that he had acquired it through the same Telegram page for personal use.

The documents for all three cases have been submitted to the preliminary investigation body.’
