Court Allows Trump to Suspend Foreign Aid Payments
The U.S. Supreme Court has permitted President Donald Trump's administration to temporarily suspend payments related to foreign aid programs. This was reported by the Associated Press.
'The court has stayed the implementation of a district judge's ruling until the parties can argue the case in its entirety,' the statement read.
It is reported that the district court had given the Trump administration until the end of the month to resume foreign aid.
Trump signed an executive order to halt foreign development assistance for 90 days starting January 20, upon taking office, to assess the compliance of programs with U.S. foreign policy. This decision has been appealed in court.
