Snow, Black Ice: Which Roads to Avoid

As of February 22 at 22:30, snow is falling in the regions of Sisian, Goris, Kapan, Meghri, Vanadzor, Abovyan, and Hrazdan, as well as in the Vardenyats mountain pass.

The roadway from the Jermuk intersection to the city of Kapan is closed to heavy and trailer transport vehicles. The area known as 'Zanger' in the Sisian region and the Vardenyats mountain pass are closed to trailer transport vehicles, and are difficult to traverse for other vehicles.

The section of the H-46 republican highway near Halidzor village is temporarily closed to all types of transport vehicles on one side.

There is black ice in certain areas along the highways of Nairi, Ashotzk, Amasia, Vanadzor, Sevan, Gavarr, Tashir, Vardenis, Aparan, Ashtarak, Ararat, Artik, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Dilijan, and Talin, as well as on the Martuni-Vardenis road segment.

The other interstate and republican highways are open. Road construction workers are carrying out cleaning and treatment works with salt and sand on the highways.
