Blizzard and Snow: Situation on Roads in Armenia
There are closed and difficult-to-pass roads in the territory of Armenia. This information has been provided by the rescue service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
The roads from the "Amberd" high-mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn province to Kary Lake and Amberd Fortress are closed. The Fantan-Jraber (blizzard) and Kaputan-Hatis-Zovashen roads are closed to all types of vehicles.
All roads leading to Meghri from the "Zanger" section of the Yerevan-Meghri highway are closed to freight vehicles and are difficult to pass for other vehicles (in case of using snow chains).
All roads in Lori province, the section leading to "Zanger" from the Jermuk intersection, and the Vardenyats mountain pass (snow, fog) are closed to freight vehicles and difficult to pass for other vehicles.
The road from Sisian village to Tatev is closed for freight vehicles with trailers, while the Artashavan-Tsilkar road is closed for all freight vehicles.
The Spitak-Gyumri road is closed for freight vehicles with trailers and is difficult to pass for other types of vehicles. The turns of Dilijan are difficult to pass for freight vehicles with trailers.
The roads leading to Jermuk city from M-2, to Shenkani village from M-3, as well as the Tigranashen turns and the section known as "Meghru Sar" are difficult to pass for all types of vehicles.
In Syunik province, it is snowing in the towns of Masis, Martuni, Gavarr, and Vardenis.
On the roads in the Alagyaz region of Aragatsotn province, on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway segment near Hayrenik and Lanjik villages (blizzard), and in the Dilijan and Tigranashen turns (blizzard), there are patches of black ice.
There is a blizzard on the Yerevan-Sevan highway at the 25-40 km mark, as well as on the Lanjik-Mastara, Horom-Artik-Metzn Mantash, Gyumri-Jajur, Charentsavan-Fantan, and Charentsavan-Arzakan roads, and in the Saravan-"Zanger" area.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia report that the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles.
