Russia Should Tighten Control Over Labor Migrants, Lavrov Says

Russia should strengthen its control over the behavior of labor migrants but should not impose a visa regime against them. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“We need to tighten control over their behavior. But we should not place obstacles, especially not introduce a visa regime,” Lavrov said.

The minister expressed confidence that any tightening of approaches towards labor migrants from the South Caucasus and other former republics will not benefit Russia's interests.
