Zelensky Wants to Create 'Another NATO'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, amid criticism of U.S. authorities directed at Europe, stated that he would not give up on NATO membership for Ukraine. In the absence of a real prospect for joining the alliance, he is beginning to explore alternatives in the form of 'another NATO' that would extend through eastern Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic states, and Finland.

“I will not withdraw Ukraine’s NATO membership from the agenda… We believe that the basis for any security guarantees for Ukraine must be NATO membership. But if that doesn’t happen, then we should create another NATO here in Ukraine,” Zelensky said during a speech at the Munich Conference. He proposed that the eastern border of Ukraine, the eastern border of Belarus, the eastern borders of the Baltic countries, and the eastern border of Finland should have the strongest security lines.

Additionally, Zelensky called for Europe to become self-sufficient and united.
