Details of the Explosion in Martuni City

On February 15, at 14:07, a call was received by the Crisis Management Center of the Gegharkunik Regional Rescue Service reporting an explosion at a church located on Momchyan Street in Martuni city, with injuries reported and a request for rescue assistance.

One firefighting unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ regional rescue service was dispatched to the scene. It was found that the explosion occurred in an adjacent building (20 sq. m) to the church, damaging the entrance door and window panes of the building.

Before the rescue teams reached the scene, the church's priest, G.B. (born in 1974), was hospitalized at a medical center. The rescuers cut off the electricity supply to the building and secured the area.
