The State Takes 50-50 From Our Income, Says Businessman

Non-professional policies are being considered in the tax sector, which are detrimental to us as entrepreneurs. This was stated by Hovhannes Gevorgyan, who runs a dental clinic, during a protest against the increase in tax burdens in front of the government.

He noted that in the dental sector, a small business with a turnover of 1 million drams, after deducting expenses like salaries, rent, and material costs, is left with approximately 200,000 drams. “Until today, we were paying 5 percent of 1 million, which amounts to 50,000 drams, but now we will pay 100,000 drams. This means the state is taking 50-50 from our income. In 2018, it turned out that it was not a revolution, but we legalized Sashek's 50-50. This is highly questionable; they want to widen the budget, but it should not be at the expense of the economy, meaning it should not be at the expense of small and medium businesses,” he said.

Gevorgyan also mentioned that the government claims there is a need for military recruitment. “However, military recruitment should not be at the expense of destroying the economy because the economy is the backbone. If they want to widen the budget, they should eliminate their bonuses and not set lavish salaries for officials, especially since there is a budget issue,” he stated.
