Levon Kocharyan on the Exchange of Meghri for Artsakh

Armenian Parliament member Levon Kocharyan wrote on his Telegram channel:

  1. Heydar Aliyev agreed that Artsakh would join Armenia in exchange for Meghri.
  2. The Armenian side did not agree to exchange Meghri for Artsakh.
  3. Due to Armenia's brilliant diplomacy, a proposal has emerged at the negotiation table which would only grant Azerbaijan a surface route (escalator) through Meghri.
  4. Artsakh would become a part of internationally recognized Armenia, along with a 20 km corridor in Lachin.
  5. Despite initial agreement, Azerbaijan refused this option at the last moment.
  6. Today, after the loss of Artsakh, Nikol Pashinyan is negotiating with Azerbaijan for a road through Meghri, without receiving anything in return.
  7. Under Pashinyan's rule, Artsakh has been lost, Azerbaijan has occupied a larger area than Meghri from Armenia, and it has no intention of returning it.
  8. It is at least strange and dishonest when the perceptions of some officials in the initial negotiation phase are disclosed, but the actual document resulting from those negotiations, which explicitly states that Meghri would not be exchanged, is not made public. The conclusions should be obvious to everyone. These are facts, and the noise generated by the authorities and other forces around all this merely aims to mislead society once again before making unilateral concessions.
