Transportation Price Should Not Exceed 100 Drams: Andranik Tevanyan
Andranik Tevanyan, the leader of the Mother Armenia movement, responded to Tigran Avinyan's decision regarding transportation fares, which set the cost of a single trip at 150 drams starting February 1. He stated, “The authorities continue to follow the Turkish bazaar approach concerning transportation prices. The pressure must continue.”
In a video he posted, Tevanyan also remarked, “They are reconsidering their approaches and have decided with a 2.5-point coalition that one ticket can be priced at 150 drams while maintaining packages. This indicates that our pressure is yielding results. The authorities first acknowledged that they are raising the municipal transportation price beyond 150 drams, whereas they previously claimed it would be cheaper than 140 drams. Now they are bartering, saying ‘let’s travel at 150 drams and see what we do next.’ We continue to urge a boycott of price hikes; you have the right to do so. The transportation price should not exceed 100 drams.”
