A new artificial intelligence program from the Chinese company DeepSeek has emerged as a serious competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT, according to international media reports.

The AI program based on DeepSeek's new model has been available since January 25 and has already been downloaded 1.6 million times. According to data from App Figures, it ranks first in the App Store in Australia, Canada, China, Singapore, the USA, and the United Kingdom.

This application differentiates itself from ChatGPT and other chatbots by providing well-founded answers to questions. The model has reportedly surpassed Meta's Llama 3.1, OpenAI's GPT-4o, and Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 3.5 models, particularly in problem-solving, mathematics, and programming tasks.
