Musk Proposes Name Change for the Channel Between France and England

American businessman and billionaire Elon Musk has proposed to rename the English Channel between France and England as the "George Washington Channel," after the first president of the United States.

"A new name for the waters separating England and France," Musk wrote on his X social media page, attaching a geographical map where the channel has already been designated in honor of Washington.

Previously, new U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order initiating the process to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. According to the document, the U.S. Secretary of the Interior is required to undertake all necessary actions for the renaming within 30 days. Trump had announced this intention before taking office, emphasizing that this move would become part of his administration's new policy.
