New Wildfires Erupt: Tension High in California
New wildfires have ignited in Southern California, prompting evacuation notices for tens of thousands of residents, according to CNN.
The fires broke out in the Castiac area, located in the northern part of Los Angeles County, known for its dry, grassy hills, which create perfect conditions for the fire to spread.
So far, no structures have been reported damaged. The Castiac community is situated approximately 24 kilometers northwest of the city of Santa Clarita and borders the Angeles National Forest.
According to Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, about 31,000 residents in the area have received evacuation orders, while an additional 23,000 have been warned to prepare for the possibility of evacuation.
Over 4,000 firefighters are combating the blaze, but the fire's containment remains a challenge, exacerbated by strong winds expected to persist today and tomorrow.
