“The Consequences of Every Patriot Statement I Make Will Be Felt by the Prisoners” - Pashinyan

The Armenian government continues to keep the issue of the return of Armenian prisoners unlawfully held in Azerbaijan within the framework of diplomatic communications and will continue its efforts in this direction. This assurance was given by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a Q&A session in the National Assembly, responding to a question from Lilith Galstyan, an MP from the Armenia faction, regarding the fake trials of Armenian prisoners in Baku.

“The information we have received and the scenes we have seen are alarming. However, I must state that we approach this situation primarily with the logic of not causing harm. This issue is constantly present in our diplomatic communications and our diplomatic agenda. We will continue our efforts in this direction to achieve results. Our primary mission is not to cause harm and to conduct work aimed at achieving a result,” Pashinyan said.

In response to the opposition MP's criticism about not demonstrating concerned and dedicated behavior, the Prime Minister assured, “I can now make a statement that would satisfy the patriotic emotions you mentioned. But the impact and consequences of that statement will be felt by those people in prison on their skin.”
