The Trials of Ruben Vardanyan, Bako Sahakyan, and Other Countrymen are Our National Tragedy: Tatoyan

The trials of Ruben Vardanyan, Bako Sahakyan, and our other countrymen are being used by the Azerbaijani authorities to establish themselves at the expense of the dignity of the Armenian people, to diminish our national consciousness, and to deepen the tensions and divisions within us. This was stated by former Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan.

These trials are necessary for the Azerbaijani authorities to legitimize their political falsehoods, to cleanse ethnic cleansing from Artsakh, and to create grounds for aggression against Armenia. Therefore, we must not allow this Azerbaijani propaganda to spread in our society.

We must remember that our compatriots are hostages in Azerbaijani prisons and that all testimonies have been extracted through inhumane torture and are “reinforced” by fabricated narratives. These trials are our national tragedy.
