I Do Not Share the Opinion on 'Skinning People' - Head of the State Revenue Committee

I do not share the idea of 'skinning people.' This was stated by the head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, Edward Hakobyan, during a press conference held on January 16, 2024, summarizing the results of the year.

He explained that the agency is implementing effective tax mechanisms. According to him, these mechanisms should be understood as an improvement of analytical tools, digitization, and simplification of procedures.

Hakobyan announced his intention to use these mechanisms to create a favorable economic environment.

"As for the increase in taxes, this decision has been developed and adopted at the government level and will take effect this year. It is (tax - ed.) unrelated to administration, it is a political issue," the official noted.
